Elderly brothers found dead in apparent murder-suicide in Ipoh, says the police

IPOH: A taxi driver is believed to have stabbed his younger brother to death before killing himself in a house at Jalan Mohamed Naseh, Housing Trust, here.

Acting Perak police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Azizi Mat Aris said the incident was believed to have been triggered by a heated argument between the 69-year-old taxi driver and his 67-year-old brother.

"The deceased, a former trader, was found covered in blood in the kitchen while the taxi driver's body was found outside the house," he told a press conference near the house on Thursday (Aug 18).

"We also found a knife, believed to be the murder weapon, next to the taxi driver," he said, adding that the police were informed of the incident at about 10am Thursday.

Deputy Comm Azizi said the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

"We are investigating the actual cause of the argument, which led to the deaths.

"According to a family member, both brothers had often argued with each other," he said.
